Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures as Deaf Khmerican diaspora repatriating to homeland: Cambodia + slow travel & worldschooling with three KODAs.

Hope you have a nice stay!

What Heals Us is What Frees Us

you tell me to cool it

you tell me to control my anger

i'm supposed to suffer in silence while you go on with your ignorance bliss to enjoy the privileges that have been granted to you by the society guilt free

i'm supposed to smile and filled with joy while you spew out words innocently yet crushing me deeply in ways you can never understand

i'm not supposed to express my frustrations nor anger over the oppressive behaviors

my anger isn't to criticize your character nor to question your intention

look at impact of your words, not the intent

my anger is to shake you out of ignorance bliss

my anger is to awaken you to erase the hate

i embrace anger because it moved me intensely to love

anger had been directed at me for being homophobic in the past

anger had been directed at me for demonstrating oppressive behavior toward DeafBlind, LGBTIQ, DeafDisabled and any other marginalized groups whether i intended to or not

anger awoke me, and told me that what I have done was wrong whether I was joking or not, whether I had a well meaning intention or not, whether I was striving to be positive or not....

anger is what turned me into a human being

a compassionate human being with a better understanding

anger is not made of hate. it is out of love. anger is where we go to when all we are faced with hate and unburied hunger for equal love that has been shown to privileged people

anger...please don't be afraid of it. it is one of most critical things for a real progress

please please never tell marginalized people to cool it

never tell them to lose their anger

ask yourself this: why are you really afraid of anger?

we were born in confusion

we were born to survive

we were born to believe that we weren't worthy to demand the society to re-design itself to be inclusive to all of our needs

ask yourself again: why is anger so terrifying to you?

we were born with the world of responsibility on our shoulders to console privileged people's feelings....it weighed us down, had our heads down, with our backs hunched over

it stripped us of our dignity, of self love, of self importance, of equality

we were born without self esteem

anger lifted that responsibility off our shoulders

straightened us up

lifted our heads up

looked at us in eyes and said, "you are just as important as everyone else. you're perfect the way you are"

anger is our healer

it liberated us

no, it freed us

truly, anger is what moved us so beautifully; it reminded us to acknowledge that we're equals and to fiercely recognize that

it is not anger that brings the death

it is hate that kills. it is ignorance that is so murderous

ignorance bliss: it is a war between intent and impact. it is deceiving you with lack of understanding. it is being decorated in beautiful words to trick you into ignoring what matters the most. a bliss. ah, a bliss how can it hurt anyone? how can it kill anyone? it is fragranced phrase. but it kills us with a silencer gun loaded with bullets of ignorance

anger is our weapon to destroy hate. to destroy ignorance bliss

embrace anger because it is an act of selfless....an act of love
